When choosing the right Assisted Living Community, here are some things to consider:
Assisted Living support helps residents with all activities of daily living while promoting safety and independence. This includes medication management, personal care, meals, activities, transportation, laundry, housekeeping, and healthcare coordination. Long-term care benefits can be utilized, per specific policy holders.
The Woodlands has an experienced Registered Nurse on-site 5 days a week, and on-call 24/7. Residents may choose to continue office visits with their Primary Care Physician or utilize the benefit of in-house visiting Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Our local podiatrist visits every three months to complete routine foot care. The outpatient lab provides a monthly phlebotomist visit to obtain ordered lab work.
Imaging, EKG, and x-ray orders can be coordinated and fulfilled within the facility. All resident medications are routinely reviewed by a licensed pharmacist. In-house vaccination clinics are offered each influenza season. With our local hospital just miles away, any urgent needs can be quickly addressed.
The Woodlands management team works closely with local home health and hospice agencies to make the appropriate referrals to meet the everchanging needs of each resident. Our 24-hour care staff completes extensive training upon hire and all staff are CPR certified annually.
Hand washing, infection control, and cleanliness are held to the highest standard. In addition to routine care and safety checks, a pendant system is provided for residents to request assistance. Our medication technicians are certified by The Maryland Board of Nursing and supervised directly by the Delegating Nurse/RN.
The Assisted Living Manager and Delegating Nurse function as a liaison between residents, staff, physicians, and families. An individualized plan of care is developed to match each resident with the level of care that suits them. Service plans are reviewed every 6 months or following any significant change in condition.
The Woodlands Assisted Living team is committed to providing exceptional care to each and every resident. We take pride in treating our residents as family, with respect, dignity, and consideration. We encourage a fulfilling quality of life by offering fun meaningful activities and promoting lasting relationships.
Many Residents move to The Woodlands and live independently in their own condo, while still enjoying the comradery of community living. With progression of age, independent living often becomes more difficult and unmanageable. Residents may then choose to receive Assisted Living Services, directly in their own condo. In addition to hands-on assistance and medication oversight, the cost of care includes three meals a day, activities, laundry services, and housekeeping. While Assisted Living Services can be short or long term, the starting cost remains the same at approximately $3,600 per month. Our goal is for each of our Residents to gracefully age in place while receiving the appropriate care and support.
